For patients ready to intensively address advanced skin concerns, Skincredible offers CO2RE® by Candela®, a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser resurfacing treatment.
Employing a powerful CO2 laser, CO2RE® has been clinically proven to help:
- Reduce “age-spots” (also called sun freckles, liver spots, and lentigines)
- Reduce and eliminate fine lines, wrinkles and scarring;
- Improve uneven coloration and textural irregularities;
- Brighted tone and tighten loose skin; and,
- Reinvigorate collagen in the face, neck, and chest.
The CO2RE® treatment removes layers of skin tissue in a “fractionated” method (i.e. columns of skin are removed, leaving the skin surrounding columns intact to aid in healing). This creates micro-channels in the dermal layers triggering collagen production and cell renewal.
Different from other laser offerings at Skincredible, CO2RE® is an ablative laser treatment. Aggressively utilizing the CO2 laser, ablative laser resurfacing removes dermal tissue in thin layers, revealing younger, healthier skin. Down time can be significant but results can be dramatic and lasting. While alternatives to the CO2RE® treatment include intense pulsed light and Fraxel® (as well as other brands of CO2 laser resurfacing devices), CO2RE® offers patients the most dynamic treatment for advanced skin damage and wrinkling available.
To facilitate comfort throughout the treatment, patients are numbed prior to the procedure. You should expect significant downtime. It may take approximately seven to fourteen days for your skin to heal. This downtime may include significant redness, crusting and dryness as well as peeling and flaking.
Following treatment, your skin will continue to improve for a period of six months (provided post treatment instructions are followed). Results from the treatment may be seen as early as three months and generally peak between six and nine months following treatment.
We encourage all our patients interested in CO2RE® to discuss with their Skincredible provider an ongoing skincare plan including cosmeceutical products, medical grade facials and kinetic dermabrasion as well as other procedures that may help to enhance the results of their laser treatment.
