Almost 9 out of 10 women will struggle with the appearance of cellulite in their lifetime. You can eat as healthy as you like. Hit the gym hard every day. Heck, you could be a wellness guru. You are still going to fight with cellulite.
With Qwo® – the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks – you can finally fight back.
Let’s start by getting rid of the biggest misconception – cellulite is not fat. It isn’t the result of what you eat – or how much. It isn’t caused by lack of exercise.
Over time, your skin thins while the fat cells in your body enlarge. These engorged cells – known as Fat Lobule Protrusions – push up against the dermis. Molded by the tension found in the skin’s fibrous bands, they form mattress-like protrusions on the surface skin (those hallmark “dimples”), further thinning and degrading the skin.
Qwo® is designed to work by initiating a process called Enzymatic Subcision and Remodeling (ESR™). Treatment begins by injecting collagenase clostridium histolyticum–aaes (CCH) into the patient’s buttocks during what is known as “enzymatic subcision.”
Following injection, the fat lobules present in the fibrous bands begin to reorganize, spreading more evenly and releasing tension at the dermal-epidermal junction. This subdermal damage and restructuring initiates the body’s natural healing mechanism, resulting in the creation of new collagen, helping to thicken the dermis and rebuild the collagen network.
Designed specifically for the treatment of cellulite, Qwo® may help to minimize the appearance of cellulite dimples, giving you the smoother, younger skin that you have been looking for. For best results, the Qwo® treatment is separated into three visits scheduled three weeks apart.
Each visit, patients generally receive up to 12 injections per buttock, for a maximum of 24 injections for both buttocks. Some dimples may require more than one injection to achieve the desired results. We encourage you to speak with your Skincredible provider about the benefits of Qwo® and whether a Qwo® treatment would be right for you.
